Education
Education sessions are run for health care providers as an introduction to Disability Sport and Recreation and the Rehabilitation to Recreation program.
Our goal is for empowered health professional and like minded organisations to be equipped with information about the wealth of recreational opportunities available to people with all types of disabilities, who the key stakeholders are within the disability sector and where information can be sourced.
A typical education session can include:
- Discussion on the importance of physical activity for health and wellbeing
- Information on the types of sport and recreation pursuits people with a disability play
- Information on the sport and recreation programs available for people with a disability in Victoria.
The benefits of joining a community group, the opportunities for officiating roles in sport and recreation (coaches, umpires etc)
