Corporate - Impact Program

IMPACT is an experiential workplace learning program which increases people’s understanding of what it is like to have a disability. IMPACT has been derived from the WheelTalk program which has been running for 10 years and visits 20,000 participants in Victorian schools and tertiary institutions annually.

IMPACT addresses workplace safety, avoiding risky behaviour, bullying, diversity and the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. Presenters share their personal story of disability with participants, describing how their birth condition, accident or illness has affected their life. Following the presentation, participants are given the opportunity to experience what it is maybe like to have a disability by playing a game of wheelchair basketball.

Your support helps us to meet the sport and recreation participation needs of people with disability.

‘Gary was an inspirational and engaging host; his life story struck a chord with each individual who took part in the day, giving us a brief yet lasting insight into life with a disability.'
